Barrow (or known as Barrow-in-Furness) is a town in western England. In 1925, the North Western Railway had an agreement with the London, Midland and Scottish Railway to have steam locomotives and running power to pull goods or passenger services into Barrow Central station. Through trains for the North Western Railway engines were detached to the Other Railway's takeover, using its engines to get downhill to London. Since 1925, the NWR has a shed, turntable and servicing facilities here. There is also a joint goods yard for exchange traffic.

Real LifeEdit

Barrow Central is though to be only known as Barrow. However, there's not a single line running to the Isle of Walney which was "replaced" on the maps of the Island of Sodor.

Main Line DutiesEdit

Gordon usually pulls expresses and the so-called "Wild Nor' Wester" with Henry and James as mixed-traffic engines. Bear assists with passenger duties. In Thomas and his Friends, Gordon was taken off express runs to make way for Pip and Emma to travel from London to Tidmouth station on the Island of Sodor. They did haul The Prince to unveil a bust of Wilbert Awdry on the one hundredth anniversary of his birth and the Royal Personage to celebrate the Railway Series' Golden Jubilee. These came from Barrow and in 1987, Pip and Emma took express services at Barrow to get to Tidmouth station.
